How I spend my day off -- 7/01/2008 10:24:00 PM

Happy July! Happy Canada Day! Yay!

I've seen a few comments on this, so I should mention it: Yes, Jeremy and Hiryuu are _both_ wrong in June 30th's comic. That's not unintentional. Hee.

Here's a bit of strange trivia, while I'm at it: Last week's story, with the crazy werewolf samurai guy? Based on reality. Not mine (thankfully!), but a woman on another board I frequent had a thing for... well, such a guy. He honestly believed the stuff about the male werewolf god, reincarnated samurai, and how nuns were the most pure of people and would make ideal primary wives. The bit about the reincarnated lovers was from a DIFFERENT guy the same woman knew; I only included that because I could get a joke out of it. She's got a blog, and I promised I'd credit her (and every comic in the sequence will get a link and a credit), so please, visit HeadDesk by Miss Moxie!

I'm inviting you all to listen to the Sequential Artists' Pub. It's a bi-weekly, informal chat show featuring webcomic artists, writers and readers, hosted by Krishna Sadasivam. Interesting thing to push, right? Well, there have been three episodes so far, and I've been on two of them, generally making a fool out of myself. I'm having fun, though, even though the TalkShoe client is iffy on my end. (First episode I was on? Piped in through someone else's Skype. Go me.)

Go ToG! Go ToG! It's your birthday! -- 6/10/2008 12:01:00 AM

You know, I've never heard the song itself; I've only had it referenced at me. Yay pop culture!

Six years. Six years. Holy crap. It's not as impressive as the sheer number of comics turning ten(!), but damn. Six years. Not the easiest thing to accomplish, hasn't been the smoothest ride, but I love doing it. Yay ToG!

I've gotten myself into Twitter. Want to follow me? Here I am!

I'm in no rush; I'm a public servant -- 5/27/2008 10:28:00 PM

At least I'd like to think I can use that excuse :P

Some moons ago I made mention to a possible con appearance. That, unfortunately, isn't going to happen. Apparently con attendance planning starts something like a year before the con you want to attend starts. Exaggerating? Just a bit. In any case, no con for me this year.

However. Is anyone in, or going to, the Toronto area during the summer? I'll be down in that neck of the woods for about a week at the end of August. If you're interested in a get-together, I'm throwing the idea out there. This is one appearance I can guarantee, unless you suggest the evening I'm seeing Avenue Q.

In fluff news, today I heard good justification for "employees aren't allowed to enter contests." The other day, there was a charity golf tournament MC'd by one of the morning hosts on the radio station I listen to when I wake up. He was describing this one auction prize: a fancy stainless steel barbecue donated by a local restaurant, will be first used by people from this restaurant (cooking for twelve people), and heck, the restaurant people would bring a couple of the Ottawa Senators (our NHL hockey team, if you're unfamiliar) with them. So this one woman bid the most and got it. Well, this woman is a professional auctioneer, in fact, the woman RUNNING the auction. Even better? She's married to the man who owns the golf course they're all at for this tournament. Color me... less than impressed.
